Quarto & GitHub workshop - dr. Ofer Engel

Dr. Ofer Engel

Dr. Ofer Engel (Medical statistic team) will give us a workshop about using Quarto and GitHub on the 13th of October!

Quarto is the next-generation, R Markdown-like publishing system, an easy-to-use engines that combines your formatted text and images, code, visualizations and results in one file. Launched only a couple of months ago by the developers of RStudio, it is open source software used to run Python, Julia and Jupyter notebooks as well as R.

We will see how to run Quarto and collaborate on GitHub, a code management system used to collaborate and develop your work with your co-authors, allowing you to conduct research in a robust and reproducible manner, increasing transparency and public accessibility.

This will be the first workshop of a series of workshops "GSMS Statistics Lab" . Topics for future workshops will be discussed during our first meeting. We will also ask for volunteers to help prepare the upcoming workshops' content.

Prerequisite: To attend the workshop you will need to have a basic working knowledge of R programming. Those who want to brush up on their R programming skills can follow the first FOUR modules from the course: R Programming Fundamentals. (Introduction, Getting Started, Data Structures, and Data Input).
